Day Three

Day 3.
From Port Townsend to either Sidney or Friday harbour. As it’s a Friday we thought on balance this was a good bet.
Set off at 6 am for long sail working with tides and projected weather. Whoa! Nothing as predicted. No sailing winds so we motored. Then motor started coughing and failing and re-starting. This went on for hours with no sailing wind, just choppy stuff. Finally limped in to Friday harbour about 2.30 pm. Anchorage dodgy, so we searched around then when we found the spot, the steering cable went AWOL. Boys exhausted, and me? Well, I’m a girlie and didn’t have to do the heavy duty stuff. Scott tender tum, Walt exhausted. Still I wrestled up a good bung-it of chilli on rice and green beans. Harbour so tranquil. Hope when I get broadband access to be able to upload photos. Just saw a young bald eagle skimming past, and a harbour seal nosing its way amongst the moored yachts.
More anon.
